The music industry is a very volatile industry. New superstars come and go every single day. 2020 was the year of Fisher, 2021 had ACRAZE, and last year will probably be defined by either Vintage Culture or Fred Again… This raises the question, what artists will define next year? Who will be the breakthrough talents of the new year? We’ve listed three contenders below.
Table of Contents
Fred Again.. (again)
I know I know… we’ve already mentioned Fred in our bit about last year. But we feel like this was only the start. Fred started out in the pop scene, and has produced some of the biggest pop hits out there. Then he finally entered the spotlight. In 2022 Fred had a sold-out tour throughout Europe and the US, a massive collaboration with Swedish House Mafia that turned out to be a massive hit, and the biggest Boiler Room set of the year. All eyes are on Fred to see what he does in 2023.
Hibell
Hibell is a rising star on TikTok at the moment. With his euphoric DJ-sets in front of an abandoned monastery, big orchestral sounding house tracks, multiple high profile guest mixes, and a massive remix of John Summit the future is looking bright. We feel Hibell might be the new breakthrough artist of the house & techno scene, let’s see if he can make this come true.
KC Lights
This upcoming house music artist is one of the most exciting names of the last few years. If you’re a fan of underground house music you have probably already heard of him, but he seems to be edging into the mainstream the past few months. With big releases on Tomorrowland Music and Toolroom, among others, KC Lights seems to be one of those artists that might just shake up the scene in the coming year.
