Were the Dutch having their own party at Ultra Music Festival this year?
As you may know, Ultra Music Festival is one of the largest EDM festivals worldwide. This year alone it had over a whopping 165K visitors with ticket prices starting at $380. It hosts some of the best and most famous EDM DJs from all over the world. This year the Netherlands were also very well represented with DJs like Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Afrojack and Chris Stussy. The three day Ultra Music Festival took place from Friday the 24th of March until Sunday the 26th of March, during Miami Music Week.
The first day and night started off with a bang with performances by DJ’s like Zedd, Charlotte de Witte, Endless Summer, Michael Bibi, Gryffin, Chris Stussy, Afrojack and a B2B between Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten. The second day and night was no less spectacular with performances by DJs like Camelphat, Marshmello, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Hi-Lo, Becky Hill, Adam Beyer and a B2B between Dom Dolla and Vintage Culture. The third day and night gave Ultra Music Festival a phenomenal finale with a B2B between Olivers Heldens and Tchami, but also DJs like David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Tale of Us, Carl Cox and Enrico Sangiuliano. As you may have already been able to judge by these names, there was an amazing range of House, Techno and Trance. All these artists were spread over 7 stages including: Mega Structure, Worldwide stage, Live stage, The Cove, UMF Radio, Oasis and of course the Main Stage hosting the biggest names in the industry.
The most noticeable thing about Ultra Music Festival was the show production, think of submersive lights, lasers, special effects and revolutionary visuals like the holographic set by Eric Prydz which left visitors’ minds blown. In addition to that there were drones flying through the night sky producing amazing light shows lighting up the Miami night skyline.
Another noticeable thing among the incredibly vibrant crowd were their outfits. Glitters, shiny rhinestones, vibrant colors and feathers were visible all over the place. Just like festivals such as Coachella, a lot of influencers such as American TikTok star Alix Earle made their appearance in extravagant outfits. In addition to this there were also fun activities like making your own candy right next to the Mainstage!
